The Pocket Press™

Elite competitive shooters know the secret: re-seating bullets to the perfect depth within 24 hours of a match delivers superior consistency and accuracy. For precision reloaders, that final seating depth can mean the difference between podium and pack. When every point counts, on-the-fly seating adjustments enable precision reloaders to adapt to conditions and barrel performance, transforming good groups into match-winning perfection.

The Pocket Press™ enables precise, consistent bullet seating at the range, away from the loading bench. Crafted from anodized aluminum, stainless steel, and bronze, this patent-pending tool is the lightest and most compact bullet seating press available, slipping easily into a range bag or pocket.

Unlike traditional arbor presses that weigh over 3 pounds, require a stable table, and limit mobility, The Pocket Press eliminates those constraints. No mounting needed – simply hold it in your hand.

Consistent bullet seating, whether seating after powder charging or for final re-seating before a match – a technique favored by F Class competitors.

Whether you’re developing a load at the range, dialing in loads during a match or re-seating bullets to final depth, The Pocket Press puts loading bench level precision in your pocket.

Benefits Include:

  • Extreme Portability: Weighs only 8.6 oz – Easily fits in a pocket.
  • Ultra-Compact Design: Measures 6.9″ × 1.5″ × 1.5″ – The most compact seating press on the market.

  • No Bench Required: Hand-operated leverage generates >300 lbs of force; use anywhere, anytime.
  • Superior Tactile Feedback: Unparalleled tactile feedback and confirmation of bullet seating.
  • Broad Die Compatibility: Designed for inline dies, including L.E. Wilson, SAC, Micron, FCP and Whidden.

  • Patent Pending: The Pocket Press™ is an innovative, patent-pending bullet seating press that fits in a pocket and eliminates the need for an arbor press.

The Pocket Press™ Technical FAQ

The Pocket Press™ Instructions

Adjusting The Pocket Press™ for Your Inline Bullet Seating Die

Notes:

  1. Near the top of the Frame there are six (6) holes for positioning the Lever. These upper holes are spaced 0.375″ apart and are used to make major height adjustments to the press.
  2. Near the bottom of the Frame, there are two (2) holes for mounting the octagonal Base. These lower holes are spaced 0.400″ apart.
  3. The octagonal Base has four (4) through holes for securing the Base to the Frame. These holes are staggered in height in 0.050″ increments and are used to make fine (0.050″) height adjustments.
  4. The Pocket Press™ is shipped with the octagonal Base in the lowest mounting hole in the frame, and with the stainless steel pin through the highest hole in the Base. This provides the lowest setting for the Base. By removing the stainless steel pin and rotating the Base a quarter turn to the next lowest hole, the working height of the die will decrease by 0.050″ for that, and for the next two (2) quarter turns. When the highest hole is used (after three, quarter turn steps, the next step of 0.050 higher is achieved by inverting the Base and using the same mounting hole (the one that is closest to the center of the Base).
  5. The Base can then be rotated an additional three (3), quarter turns until it reaches its highest position (using the lowest hole).
  6. The press height should be adjusted so that the Lever comes close to the die when the bullet is fully seated, but not low enough to touch the die.
  7. The Pocket Press™ uses the leverage from the Lever in addition to a camming action of the Bronze Roller. The mechanical advantage is greatest when the Lever is pressed low and close to the die.

Procedures for setting the height of The Pocket Press™

  1. Set your seating die to the desired height.
  2. Place your seating die (without a cartridge) into the Pocket Press™ with the base of the die resting on the Base of the Press.
  3. Note the position of the Lever and the Bronze Roller with the Lever lowered.
  4. If there is a gap of less than approximately .375″ between the top of the seating stem and the Bronze Roller with the Lever lowered, the press only needs fine adjustment by raising the Base as described above.
  5. If the Press needs a greater adjustment, move the Lever higher or lower.
  6. Fine tune the height by selecting the appropriate staggered mounting hole in the octagonal Base. Remember, the Base can be inverted to provide four (4) additional stepped heights.
  7. The ideal adjustment is achieved when the Lever can be pressed low and close to the die but not low enough to touch it.
  8. Optional: Ultra-fine height adjustments can be achieved in 0.025″ increments by moving both the Base and the Lever up to the next higher hole positions in the Frame. This will provide height settings that are in between the 0.050″ incremental positions available when using the lowest mounting hole in the Frame for the Base.

Perfect for travel. No more lugging the heavy arbor press on flights. Awesome as well that this can be in my carryon baggage so that I can stay under the checked bag weight limits. Thank you!

  2. F Class John (verified owner)

This is the answer I’ve been looking for. I’ve traveled to national level matches for years and have always had to bring a bulky and heavy arbor press with me, and while I’ve tried other methods as well nothing can even come close to what this does. It checks every box and does exactly what it’s supposed to.

  3. James Crofts (verified owner)

Super excited to get my hands on this press. Perfect for tuning loads on international trips and saving weight also. The craftsmanship is top notch and second to none. Highly recommended.

  4. Wayne J Walusiak (verified owner)

Saw this last year when the inventor had one at the WI NRA National. Have been salivating ever since. Now I have a way to make rounds up ahead of time and seat them to where I want so I can try changing seating depths if I need to. This will be great for load development as well as shooting matches. I can make up the rounds way ahead of time, seat them long and adjust as needed !
Dont have to cart the press with me to the range or on a long trip. VERY well made, and a carrying case to keep everything in one place!!!
    Thank you !!

  5. Mike Catena

This product is a game changer!!! I love the fact that I now have a tool that allows me to change bullet seating when running seating depth tests without having to get up off my rifle and go to a bench to seat bullets. Its also the perfect size and weight to just throw in your range bag and go. And I love that the press comes with a pouch that allows me to store my inline die in the press and keep it safe while traveling.
The Pocket Press should be in every serious shooters range bag!!!

  6. Dale Lucy | USA National Team Shooter (verified owner)

Just received mine yesterday, super easy to set up and works great. This will save me a lot of weight and space when I fly.

  7. Travis Elfgren (verified owner)

Just received my pocket press. I typically seat everything long and seat to length the day of the match with my arbor press. I also use my arbor press for seating depth testing. I have went to a club match before and forgot my die. With the pocket press It saves room and I can keep my die with it in the case so I won’t make that mistake again! I love to see when fellow shooters recognize something they can make better! That’s exactly what has been done here! Thank you and we’ll done!

  8. Brian Harder | USA National Team Shooter

I used this press to do all of my load development at the range and while traveling to Southwest Nationals. It works perfectly and travels much easier to and from the range and especially in luggage! It’s a fantastic product and worth every penny!

  9. Drew Rutherford

Just seated my first 50 rounds using the press. Very sturdy, lightweight (great for intl travel), plenty of leverage if you needed it, thoughtful and toolless adjustments. A great product, A++

  10. Amos Wisherd (verified owner)

I am always trying to reduce the footprint of everything i take to the range or a match. With this very well thought out press i am able to get rid of an arbor press with no loss in performance. It also allows me to store my inline die in the press with out taking up any extra room. This is one of my favorite shooting purchases in the last few years. Thank you for designing such a good product that resolves a real need many traveling shooters have. If you have not bought one of these you should!

  11. Michael Liuzza (verified owner)

I just received my Pocket Press and am thoroughly impressed with it. It made me ask why anyone would want an arbor press for the range anymore. Must have for seating depth tests at the range or final seating after loading long prior to travel.

  12. Chris Fairbanks

    Impressive fit, finish and craftsmanship.
Nice work Mr. Lee, thank you!

  13. Tony Frank (verified owner)

Absolutely love the idea and small footprint. Nicely done.
